The A.R. Schmeidler & Co., Inc. team is comprised of 22 individuals in our investment, trading, operations and administrative areas. Our investment professionals are listed below.

Prior to founding A.R. Schmeidler & Co. Inc., Arnold Schmeidler was Vice President at A.W. Benkert & Company. He earned a B.S. in Economics from New York University and an M.S. in Finance from Columbia University, where he studied under David Bonbright, a protégé of David Dodd (Graham & Dodd). Over the course of his career, he has been quoted and/or interviewed by such publications as Barrons, Forbes, Fortune, Institutional Investor, International Herald Tribune, Money Magazine, The New York Times, The Wall Street Transcript and The Wall Street Journal. Before choosing the investment field, he considered a career as a classical pianist in which he was encouraged by friend and mentor, Artur Rubinstein. In his free time Arnold continues to play classical piano and enjoys sailing with his family.

Stephen joined the firm in June 2007. Prior to that he was the CEO of Deutsche Asset Management's $165 Billion Institutional Business in the Americas, serving the Defined Benefit, Insurance and Cash Management segments. Stephen joined Deutsche after a 21 year career at the Mellon Financial Corporation where he served as Vice Chairman of Standish Mellon Asset Management responsible for institutional sales, marketing and client services. Before joining Standish, Stephen was the President of Dreyfus' Marketing and Advertising Division. Stephen received a Bachelor of Arts from Gettysburg College.

Michael has over 15 years of financial services experience including seven as a portfolio manager and research analyst. Since joining A.R. Schmeidler in 1999, he has been managing portfolios for corporate, foundation and high net worth clients. Michael previously spent seven years at Lehman Brothers where he was a senior financial analyst in the Technology Business Office. He has worked as a Mediator in the New York State Attorney General's Office for Consumer Fraud Protection. Michael has a B.A. in English from the State University of New York at Albany.

Chris joined A.R. Schmeidler & Co., Inc. in 2008. Prior to joining, Chris spent two years at Hudson Valley Bank in their Management Training program; as part of the program Chris spent six months with the firm in 2007. He interned with RBC Dain Rauscher in 2005 working with a portfolio manager doing equity research. He has a B.S.B.A. in Economics and Finance from the University of Richmond and is a CFA Charterholder.

Jared has over 10 years of financial services experience. Prior to joining A.R. Schmeidler in 2008, he worked for five years as a fundamental equity research analyst in the hedge fund industry, most recently with Perella Weinberg Partners and Highbridge Capital, where he worked as a generalist with a focus on the consumer sector. Jared previously worked for six years as an investment banker, including four years with Lazard LLC, where he advised consumer and industrial companies on financial restructurings and mergers & acquisitions. Jared received J.D. and M.B.A. degrees from Columbia University, and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.

Albert joined A.R. Schmeidler & Co., Inc. in 1974. Prior to that he spent twelve years in the international metal trading business, the last half of which he was President of Intercontinental Metal Corporation—a non-ferrous metal dealer and trading company. He holds a B.S. in International Finance from New York University.

Andrew joined A.R. Schmeidler & Co., Inc., in 1992 and has over 12 years of portfolio management and research experience. As a portfolio manager he has experience managing accounts for corporations, foundations and high net-worth clients. In 2002 he returned after having spent two years as a founding member and Senior Vice President of GasPedal Ventures, an internet incubator and business development consultancy. He has a B.A. in Government, International Relations from Skidmore College.

Sam joined A.R. Schmeidler & Co., Inc. in 2010 with primary responsibilities in portfolio management and fixed income research. Prior to joining the firm, he managed a $4.5 billion fixed income portfolio of Norddeutsche Landesbank (Nord/LB). Sam previously worked for the Dreyfus Corporation for over 25 years where he won numerous awards managing taxable and tax-exempt mutual funds, as well as separate accounts. Throughout his career, his investment philosophy has stressed conservative, income-oriented strategies across multiple bond sectors to build wealth in varying market conditions. Sam is a cum laude graduate of the University of Florida.

John joined A.R. Schmeidler & Co., Inc. in 1984 with primary responsibilities in portfolio management and equity and fixed income research. He worked for over ten years at Eagle Management as a portfolio manager and research analyst specializing in industrial companies and under-valued situations. He began his career with one of the original research boutiques: Faulkner, Dawkins, and Sullivan Inc. John received his A.B. in Economics from Union College (NY) and his M.B.A from New York University.
